J. Douglas “Jay” Hilliard has more than twenty years expertise in public speaking, leadership training, and personal development. He is a persuasive and enthusiastic presenter and excels in equipping and coordinating successful teams.
Jay has personally excelled as a leader with the Boy Scouts of America, world-class drum and bugle corps, in the U.S. Army and as an educator. Most recently, Jay served as a Minister of Pastoral Care, where he specialized in grief counseling, crisis ministry to seniors, and preaching.
In addition, Jay’s leadership experience includes starting two businesses, and performing as a professional entertainer for more than a decade. His understanding of public relations, customer service and marketing has cultivated his keen ability to turn problems into solutions. Jay believes opportunity and success are often disguised in failure, and specializes in motivating others through challenges in order to advance leadership, mentor teams and attain excellence. Jay capitalizes on his optimism and exceptional interpersonal skills to create exciting climates for growth. His speaking, leadership, networking, and team-building skills enable him to be the regent of progress to executives and entrepreneurs.
Jay earned an undergraduate degree in Music Education at Valdosta State University where he received the Tau Beta Sigma Award for exceptional leadership, a Master of Divinity (Cum Laude) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, FL and a Master of Theology in Homiletics (Magna Cum Laude) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, and is a member of the Phi Alpha Chi Scholastic Honor Society.
Jay and his wife Keri have been married for 25 years, and live in Dowling Park, Florida. They have been blessed with twin sons. Micah is a freshman engineering major at Florida State University where he runs Cross Country and Track, and Matthew is a freshman at North Florida College, where he is preparing for a career in camping ministry to disabled children. Jay enjoys the outdoors, reading, traveling with Keri, cheering for all FSU sports and trying to keep up with Matthew on the golf course.
